I schedule most of my regular lessons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays so that Mondays and Fridays can be reserved for makeup lessons. I teach from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.; I can be flexible based on students' scheduling restrictions. I do not teach on weekends or evenings.

Please make your payment on the first lesson of the month for that month's lessons.
Cancellation and Makeup Policy
Private Lessons Please let me know if you cannot make a lesson. We can reschedule for that week. I much prefer make-up lessons to missed lessons. Continuity is important to musicianship!
If something comes up for me and I have to last-minute cancel a lesson, I will send an email and leave a phone message. Please always check messages on the day of your child's lesson. I will gladly schedule a makeup lesson.
I cannot give payment credits for missed lessons. I have too many students to keep track of! I typically schedule make-up lessons on Mondays and Friday.
"Meet the Piano" Classes If I have to last-minute cancel a class that you pre-paid for, I will schedule a make-up class. (I reserve Mondays and Fridays for makeups.) Everybody paid, and everybody missed, so I think it makes sense to have a make-up class.
However, if in individual prepaid and then missed a class, I can’t really do a make-up class or payment credits. I have too many students and classes to keep track of all of that! However, I do have several “Meet the Piano” classes, and if you have to miss your scheduled class and would like your child come to another for that week, I can let you know the times of the other classes. Just let me know and we can work something out. I try to mix up things in the different classes so that any child who switches classes or attends a makeup up won’t be behind or bored because all the same material is being covered. The “curriculum” is not necessarily sequential, so each class is a little different----I’m just making sure that all of the prereading, prewriting, and concepts at the piano are being covered in new and exciting ways.If I will be gone on vacation, I will let you know in advance, and you will not have to pay tuition for the weeks that I am gone. In these cases, we will not schedule a make-up class.
Holidays
No lessons will be taught on Boulder Valley School District holidays or inservice days, unless a makeup was prearranged for one of these days.
Books and Supplies
Every student will need to bring a spiral-bound notebeook with manuscript paper, as well as a folder with pockets. I will have the books that you need and you can buy them from me. This saves you hassle and keeps your costs lower.
Miscellaneous
For the first lesson, I invite parents to sit in during their child's lesson. After the first lesson, however, I ask that parents wait in the upstairs living room during the lesson. I have found that the rapport between me and the student is more effective if there is not a third person in the room.
